Nick and Daintry; A Heli Ride to Meade Glacier
Nick and Daintry met when Nick's four wheeler broke down on the country road where Daintry lived. She welcomed Nick to stay there, while he waited for for parts to arrive. Before the four wheeler was fixed, this Welsh girl stole his heart, putting an end to his single days! They had never flown a helicopter, nor kissed on a glacier before. This was a day to cherish. Just the two of them, together. Enjoying the view. Looking forward to

Glen and Kristin; White Pass Train Wedding
Amidst Fireweed and alpine scenery, this scenic White Pass wedding took place near the Alaskan/Canadian Border. Glen and Kristin recited their vows, as the wedding party looked on. This 5 hour train ride began in Carcross, 70 miles away from Skagway. It included a 45 minute stop at Lake Bennett for a photo shoot in scenic Canadian wilderness. Lunch, drinks, cake, a toast and laughter were shared by all. As wedding planner and officiant, I found this one of the more relaxed an

Kate & John
October 1, 2015 Kate is my daughter; John, my new son in law. May I say that this wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings on record, without being biased? I doubt it. The very talented Elise Giordano took amazingly beautiful wedding photos. It helped that the russet Fall colors at Upper Dewey Lake were spectacular this Fall day. It helped that the first snow of the season dusted the wedding party and surrounding scenery, as they recited their vows. It also helped that

Patrick & Ashley
August 6, 2015 Ashley and Patrick wanted "casual and stress free" for their wedding day. Dressed in jeans, topped with a lacey white blouse, this beautiful bride chose to marry in the mountains above Skagway. I suggested "Mountain Madness" for their wedding venue. We drove for 20 minutes, into White’s Pass alpine, in search of a scenic mountain setting. Their two friends, one whom was also their photographer, joined us. It was misting lightly with a side of low clouds. Umbrel

Scott & Shannon
August 5, 2015 Scott contacted me two months before their cruise was to arrive in Skagway. He wanted to surprise Shannon by asking her to marry him while on the cruise. That didn’t seem so unusual, until he continued, by saying, "I also want to surprise her with a wedding while in Skagway. Can you help me plan this?". “Are you sure?” I asked. He was certain that she would love it. And love this, she did. She was thrilled that she didn’t need to plan her wedding day. It was ta

Ken & Susie
Susie and Ken's dream wedding breathed Irish. The cool weather on this June day even reminded us of Ireland's cooler coastal climate. Shamrock green ribbons decorated the cake and bridal bouquet, Celtic tunes and vows were planned, and Irish knot tying was a key component of the ceremony. After their Smuggler's Cove ceremony, the trail to Yakatania Point was tempting. Since hiking boots were their ch

Mike & Meredith
May 21, 2015 Although Spring in Alaska can vary in temperature with blustery snowy days, this day was a warm, windless blue-bird kind of day. Meredith had contacted me back in January, wanting a wedding ceremony on a glacier. "Why not splurge a little on the most memorable day of your life," she said. I agreed! The planning began. We hit it off from the start. She was easy to talk to. I felt as if I were helping plan my own daughter's wedding. Meredith was a "do-it-yourself"

Rob & Deanne
May 16, 2015 Laughter sounded, as Rob and Deanne popped their champagne cork. This photo, taken by local events photographer, Elise Giordano, portrays the fun we had this day. "The Secret Rock Spot", a very private wedding venue, was reached via a 10 minute magical forest walk. Time stretched to a half hour, as Elise stopped to shoot bridal photos on the way out. Shore Pines made for many scenic back ground pictures of Deanne on the way out to where Rob waited. Kate, Rob and

Jayson & Leigh Anna
May 7, 2015 This glacier wedding ceremony took place on an amazingly warm blue sky spring day. 6 of us flew via helicopter, to Meade Glacier. Vows were exchanged, and Shannon McGuire of Chugach Peaks Photography caught this darling dip n kiss photo. Beautiful bride, Leigh Anna, a hiker from Washington State, loved exploring the glacier, wearing the provided studded black boots that kept her from slipping on glacial ice. What a unique and special wedding venue! After the retur

Tim & Laura
August 7, 2014 Laura's hand lovingly brushed the daisies, as we walked the garden path, where flowers blossomed, "Mom would have loved these daisies, her favorites. She is here with us now." This touching moment has remained with me. Laura shared her special day with her mother. Mom's spirit guided Laura down the path to her waiting groom. Vows were exchanged in the garden gazebo, followed by a mountain reception. Raspberries were freshly picked that morning. They now sat a t
